Laparoscopic Procedures
Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive technique for performing abdominal surgery through tiny incisions in the abdominal wall. The endoscopes magnify the organs and offer brilliant imaging to allow extremely precise surgical technique.
Laparoscopic Spay
We are proud to offer ovariectomies. A love spay (Laparoscopic OVE) is removing both ovaries thereby removing hormones related to heat cycles, lessening the chance of mammary tumors, and uterine infections. The uterus remains intact and in place there by decreasing pain and postoperative recovery. This also decreases bleeding associated with removing the uterus in a traditional spay.
Laparoscopic Gastropexy
An elective procedure performed to permanently fix the stomach to the body wall to prevent twisting of the stomach. This is a procedure that can also be done with the laparoscope and often times in combination with a spay.
Laparoscopic Biopsies
A laparoscopic biopsy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows a veterinarian to access a dog's abdominal organs to take tissue samples and obtain biopsies. It's often used to diagnose liver disease, but can also be used to evaluate other organs and diagnose other conditions.
Laparoscopic Ear Cleanings/Visualization
The laparoscopic equipment can be used to better identify the ear drum and ear canal. It can also be used to help remove debris and deep clean the ear canal and flush the middle ear.
